Almond Cantucci: The Famous Tuscan Cookies

These are incredibly crunchy textured cookies full of flavors. It goes perfectly with Vin Santo which is an Italian wine. These cookies are also known as Cantucci alle Mandorle and are made up of some simple ingredients like Almonds, butter and vanilla. Despite simple ingredients they have a rich crunchy and nutty flavor. Italians used to eat them after meals or with afternoon coffee and it gives the touch of Italian tradition.

METHOD

Step 1: To bake cookies, first of all preheat the oven at 175°C.

Step 2: Then, take a bowl, mix dry ingredients like baking powder, flour and sugar.

Step 3: Now add eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract and whisk them well.

Step 4: Dough should be thick and dry. Now add almonds in it.

Step 5: Make three portions of dough and roll them on a floured surface.

Step 6: Now place them on a baking tray lined with baking sheets.

Step 7: Put this tray in the preheated oven for half an hour.

Step 8: Take them out of the oven.

Step 9: With the help of a cutter, cut these rolls into small sized cookies.

Step 10: Let these cookies to cool before serving.

Step 11: After this, enjoy these crunchy cookies with Vin santo.
