METHOD
Step 1: Wash the lentils well and soak them in cold water. Drain the water before cooking but some people do not soak them. Step 2: Cut the onion, garlic, carrots and celery into fine pieces. Step 3: After that, heat olive oil in a pot. Step 4: Then cook onion and garlic in it until they become transparent. Step 5: Then cook the carrots and celery in it for five minutes. Step 6: After draining the lentils and cooking them with the vegetables then add the chopped tomatoes in it. Step 7: Now add vegetable broth to it. Step 8: Also add Bay Leaf and Rosemary to it. Step 9: After boiling,you need to cook it on low flame for 30 to 40 minutes until the lentils and potatoes become soft and tender. Step 10: After it is cooked completely, take out the rosemary and bay leaf from it. Step 11: Add black pepper and salt to it. Step 12: Now put it on a serving plate and serve it. Then , you can also add olive oil and chopped parsley on it. Step 13: If you want more flavors, you need to add crushed bacon and sauce while cooking vegetables.
