Italian Custard Filled Sweet Peaches

CONTENT OF RECIPE:

8 Cups All-Purpose Flour
7 Ounces of Butter
2 ¼ Teaspoons Fresh Yeast
3 Cups Milk
¾ cup + 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
4 Eggs
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 Small Glass Sambuca Liqueur.
Soaking Syrup:
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
½ cup Alchermes liqueur (Alternate: Marsala, Campari, brandy)
2 Cups Water
For The Pastry Cream:
Cornstarch
2 Cups Milk
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
4 Egg Yolks
¼ cup + 1 tbsp Cornstarch
Lemon Peel
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

METHOD

Preparation of Peaches:

Step 1: Add the egg, liquid and hot lard to the flour. Then add dissolved sugar (in a little water), lemon juice and mix it.

Step 2: Take some warm milk and add dissolved yeast to it.

Step 3: When the dough starts to puff up and double in size, it is almost ready.

Step 4: Prepare a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 5: Grease your hands with cooking oil.

Step 6: Then take a piece of dough and shape it into a ball and make a space between them.

Step 7: Adjust the size according to your needs.

Step 8: Give it a little rest.

Step 9: Then bake them at (350°F) until they change color. Now they are ready.

Preparation of the Custard

Step 10: Prepare the custard as usual and cover the custard with plastic wrap and let it cool.

Preparation of the Syrup

Step 11: Boil one cup of sugar with two cups of water in a saucepan and then keep aside and let it cool.

Step 12: Once the syrup cools down, mix it to Marsala.

Step 13: After soaking the peaches in the syrup, spread the cream in half.

Step 14: Roll them in granulated sugar.

Step 15: Finally, garnish with candied cherries; hope you like and enjoy it.
